The Pak 40 had a long recoil, and the armour may have been removed to give it more leeway. With sustained firing , the recuperator fluid would have gradually heated up and lost its effectiveness. A 52 'fire pause' mark would have let the gun crew know that its limits had been reachod What became of the rear facing driver's visor / position is unknown. Note that ti ll rear fender stowage compartment does not appear to have a locking mechani ~lIli on it.
